Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Sep 04
(50% frosted) Rather exotic, oaky aromas of orchard fruits and banana; distinct suggestion of surmaturite Fat, sweet and stuffed with ripe fruit; flavors of pineapple in syrup and honey. Suave, rich and chewy but not aggressive. This has impressive volume and solid underlying structure. The concentration and stuffing are largely due to the degenerating vines, which typically produce tiny grapes. A bit warm on the end, like most of these 2003s.
